About the Classes
Through partnerships with community agencies, the Healthy Aging Regional Collaborative (HARC) offers evidence based programs to the South Florida community. These programs are endorsed by the National Council on Aging and have been proven to be effective throughout the country in increasing self-management skills, reducing the fear and risk of falling and increasing physical activity levels.

Living Healthy
This six week workshop, developed by Stanford University, empowers people to gain the self-confidence needed to control illness symptoms. With the use of brainstorming, problem solving and group discussion, the workshop focuses on topics such as exercise, nutrition, effective communication strategies, and techniques
to deal with frustration and fear.

A Matter of Balance
This proven program reduces and stops the fear of falling cycle and increases activity levels. This eight week workshop teaches coping strategies to reduce both the fear and risk of falling and in later sessions, provides exercises to improve balance and strength.

EnhanceFitness
This successful physical fitness evidence-based program is a dynamic hour filled with cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and stretching. The classes, led by a certified instructor, are tailored to individuals with similar fitness levels. Each class meets three times per week.
