Other Community Needs

We are open to a variety of ideas from the community that align with our mission to improve health and well-being in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties, especially among low-income and minority communities.
THE BACKGROUND

Through this funding opportunity, we call upon our partners to share ideas and interests that reduce health disparities and create health equity. We define health broadly to include the underlying social and economic factors that impact overall health and well-being.

Funding decisions will be guided by our mission, our guiding principles, an assessment of proposal elements (need, target population, project implementation, measurable outcomes, etc.) and funding availability.

FUNDING ELIGIBILITY
  • The organization must be a tax-exempt nonprofit under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or a local or state governmental agency.
  • The project must exclusively serve residents of Broward, Miami-Dade and/or Monroe Counties.
FUNDING CRITERIA
  • The project must align with our mission and guiding principles.
  • Preference will be given to organizations serving low income and disadvantaged communities either directly through programming or through policy/systems/environmental change work.
  • Preference will be given to proposals that demonstrate the following criteria:
    • An identified need is clearly demonstrated.
    • Goals, objectives, and outcomes are realistic and measurable.
    • Project budget fully explains how the Foundation’s funds will be used.
    • Opportunities to collaborate with other community partners are identified.
FUNDING GUIDELINES
  • Unsolicited proposals are accepted year-round and are reviewed in the order they are received.
  • The project duration can be 1 to 2 years.
  • Funding requests may vary and are dependent on project size and scope.
  • Short-term projects may be fast-tracked for a funding decision. All other proposals may require a more detailed proposal application process before going to our Board of Directors for a final funding decision.
